So you may be familiar with the the 4 P’s of Marketing which describe the elements of the Marketing Mix – Product, Price, Place and Promotion. In order to implement a successful SEO strategy there are qualities necessary and these can be summarised in the 4 P’s of SEO.
These qualities are necessary for a successful SEO strategy and include Persistence, Proactive, Perseverance and Patience.
SEO is not something you can spend a couple of weeks doing and then sit back and relax. In any given market, your competitors will be trying to achieve the exact same thing as you and they could potentially be carrying out SEO activities on a daily basis. In order to match this you will need to be doing the same, if not better. You will need to carry out some type of activity each day that will contribute to SEO, we would recommend
It is better to be proactive than reactive!! Reacting to changes in the SERPs can often prove to do more harm than good so it is advised to meet regularly to reassess and tweak SEO strategies where necessary.
Also, note that SEO work carried out today will probably not take effect on revenue or traffic today. There is a time lag of sorts with off page activities as these changes are dependent on getting indexed by search engines and must then filter in to the SERPs so this can and will take time. It is important to factor this in to your calendar / schedule of activities.
It doesn’t matter how strong your SEO strategy is, you do not control the SERP’s the search engines do. You can definately influence the SERP’s but you cannot control them so it is only realistic to prepare for the highs as well as the lows and be prepared to persevere through the difficult stages.
This is the toughest of them all the P’s. In a business setting it can be difficult to justify spend on SEO activities in one quarter if results are not being seen until another quarter. The best strategy to take is to accept that SEO is going to take time and create and build a solid SEO strategy with this patience in mind.
